We have listed a few of the questions we get asked regularly, feel free to contact us with any query that may not be answered by what is listed below:

What can one expect when visiting a rural village in Kenya?

The lifestyle of the host community is based primarily on their occupation which in most cases is farming. We encourage conservative use of amenities such as running water and electricity as they are not as abundant and widely available. We do however make sure that your stay is relatively at ease and you would not suffer from any great discomfort.

What would the itinerary entail?

On most days, you will be helping your host family with their daily chores and tasks such as planting, harvesting or even selling their produce at the local market. On other occasions, we will arrange some site-seeing trips to get an understanding and appreciation of some of the countrys magnificent wildlife and scenery. These excursions to national parks and game reserves are in proximity of the village homesteads, hence minimising journey travel times. We would also organise local language lessons, provide speakers such as the village elders who provide information on the history and heritage of the host community.

What do the costs of each trip cover?

The average holiday is between 4-21 days long. Our fees include; all accommodation, meals, ground transportation and guide services. Flights, travel and medical insurances, personal stipends are not included. Please contact us with your anticipated journey time and travel requirements and we will get back to you immediately with a quote.

How many items is one required to carry?

We advise that you pack items like you would a camping trip. We do also provide for a detailed 'packing list' for all guests that have made a reservation. In general one requires a valid passport, (valid for at least six months after the time of travel) binoculars, cameras, and all other personal effects.
